Scaling nature-based solutions for ecosystem restoration in Kajiado, Makueni and Kiambu
June 9, 2026
The Regreening Africa Project in Kajiado, Makueni and Kiambu counties restores landscapes by supporting supply communities with high-quality seedlings for reforestation, agroforestry, environmental conservation, and climate change mitigation through community-led solutions that establish tree nurseries as profitable businesses and generate income.
Through promoting tree planting, sustainable land management, and active community involvement, Regreening Africa restores degraded ecosystems, boosts biodiversity, strengthens climate resilience, and helps communities become greener and more sustainable.
As of 5th June 2026, on World Environment Day, this project marked a significant milestone, having planted over 500,0000 trees in Kajiado, Makueni, and Kiambu counties.
