A Bottom-Up Approach

Community development is central to ChildFund’s mission to improve children’s well-being. Our programs are designed to engage local communities and key stakeholders in addressing the most pressing needs of both children and their surroundings. By involving those who know the challenges best, we ensure that our initiatives are locally led and impactful.

As communities grow more self-sufficient, we shift our focus to areas that need greater support. Together, child by child and community by community, we co-create environments where every child can thrive—growing up healthy, educated, skilled, and safe.

“Baragoi is one of the places in Kenya where many NGOs have feared to go because of the perpetual incidences of insecurity. But ChildFund dared to come here and work with us. That was back in 1975. And they continue to walk this journey with us today, touching the lives of so many children and families. This partnership has shown us that when we unite for a common cause, our impact multiplies, and no challenge is too great.” ~ DAVID DADIO, CEO, SAMBURU CHILDREN’S PROGRAM (CHILDFUND’S LOCAL PARTNER IN SAMBURU COUNTY)
